Even Realities revealed "Terminal Mode" for its G2 smart glasses on April 30, 2026. This new functionality enables real-time monitoring of AI coding agents, freeing developers from constant desk-bound supervision. The G2's display will show an icon indicating the agent's status, notifying users when interaction is required.

When an AI agent needs attention, users can respond via a controller ring. Options include pre-programmed replies or custom voice commands. This allows developers to approve actions or address issues without being tethered to a computer. Even Realities' CEO Will Wang states the mode is intended to keep coders connected to their agents "during a coffee break, commute, workout or while running errands," as Engadget reports.

Our take: This feature leans into the expanding role of AI assistants, particularly in specialized fields like software development. For coders, the ability to rapidly assess and direct their AI agents, even when AFK, could significantly boost productivity and reduce downtime. It's a pragmatic application of smart glasses, moving beyond passive information display to active, immediate control. The G2's success will hinge on the reliability and responsiveness of this interaction, especially compared to more conventional notification systems on phones or smartwatches.
