Overview

Announced on 31 March 2026, the Ray-Ban Meta Scriber Optics (Gen 2) are Meta's first AI glasses optimized for prescription lenses. Priced at $499 before prescription lens upgrades, the frames feature a wider, flatter lens shape specifically built for progressive and high-index prescriptions.

The glasses share the same Gen 2 camera and audio stack as the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2, offering 3K video capture alongside open-ear speakers and a multi-mic array. Powered by Meta AI through the companion app, the glasses connect via Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi, delivering up to 8 hours of battery life with IPX4 water resistance.

Without an integrated visual display, the glasses position themselves strictly as an audio and camera wearable for everyday corrective lens wearers seeking smart assistant features without cables.
