Viture has launched its new top-tier extended reality (XR) glasses, dubbed the 'Beast,' which are now open for pre-orders. These advanced spectacles aim to provide users with a portable, large-screen viewing experience for gaming, streaming, and work. According to a report by GameSpot, early adopters who purchase the Beast XR glasses will also receive a complimentary 8BitDo controller, a value of $40.

The core innovation lies in the display technology. The Beast XR glasses feature Sony's cutting-edge Micro-OLED panels for each eye, creating a virtual screen equivalent to a 174-inch IMAX display. Each lens offers a 1200p resolution, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and an expansive 58-degree field of view. Viture claims these are its brightest screens yet, reaching up to 1,250 nits, ensuring vibrant visuals even in varying light conditions.

Compatibility is a key focus, with the Beast XR glasses connecting to a wide array of devices including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, ROG Ally, as well as iOS, Android, Mac, and PC platforms via a USB-C connection. For Nintendo Switch users, a Viture Pro Mobile Deck is recommended for full compatibility, which also functions as a portable charger and USB-C dock for other devices. While Xbox and PlayStation consoles can connect directly with an HDMI-to-USB-C cable, the dock is suggested for optimal use.

Beyond the impressive display, the Beast XR glasses incorporate several user-centric features. These include intelligent re-centering and automatic transparency modes for enhanced ease of use. A tap on the glasses allows for a seamless transition between augmented reality and a fully immersive, cinematic blackout experience through adjustable electrochromic lenses. High-quality audio is delivered via integrated Harman AudioEFX speakers. Constructed from lightweight, aircraft-grade metal, the glasses weigh a mere 88 grams, ensuring comfort for extended wear and offering two size options for optimal fit.

With a price point of $549, the Viture Beast XR glasses are set to begin shipping on April 27th. This launch positions Viture to further compete in the growing market of wearable displays, offering a premium option for those seeking a portable, cinematic experience.
