Apple's Vision Pro is cementing its position as the premier home for cinematic 3D content. Announced May 21, 2026, the platform will soon host two anticipated film additions: _Avatar: Fire and Ash_ and _The Super Mario Galaxy Movie_.

Users can now purchase or rent _The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (2026)_ in 3D directly through the Apple TV app. Following that, 2025's top-grossing film, _Avatar: Fire and Ash_, is slated for a June 24th 3D streaming release via the Disney+ app.

According to RoadToVR, Vision Pro offers the optimal environment for viewing 3D versions of new films. The outlet highlights a combination of high-quality OLED displays and seamless access to 3D content, allowing for 4K streaming with HDR and surround sound, and screens that scale to true theater size. As RoadToVR puts it, if a film is available in 3D on Vision Pro, it's a "pure value-add" to the viewing experience.

Our take: This strategic content acquisition underscores Apple's commitment to distinguishing Vision Pro in the crowded XR market. By securing new theatrical 3D releases, Apple isn't just offering another viewing option; it's defining the gold standard for spatial entertainment. This move significantly enhances the device's appeal, proving that premium hardware deserves premium, exclusive content experiences.
