Samsung's Smart Glasses Pass FCC, Signaling Imminent Launch
Samsung's long-anticipated smart glasses have appeared in the FCC database, revealing two distinct styles with multiple variants. This regulatory approval brings the intelligent eyewear closer to a market release.
On September 30, 2026, Samsung's anticipated intelligent eyewear cleared a major regulatory hurdle, appearing in the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) database. This development signals an imminent market debut for devices designed to compete directly with Meta's burgeoning smart glasses portfolio.
According to [Android Authority](https://www.androidauthority.com/), citing a report from _Droid Life_, two distinct models of Samsung's smart glasses have received FCC approval. These models, identified by SM-O200J and SM-O200P, are widely believed to correspond to Samsung's announced collaborations with fashion brands Warby Parker and Gentle Monster, respectively. Android Authority previously reported on Samsung's partnerships for their smart eyewear during the company's summer Unpacked event.
The FCC documents further reveal that both primary models will spawn multiple variants. Model SM-O200P, presumed to be the Warby Parker design, is expected to have four additional iterations: SM-O201P, SM-O202P, SM-O203P, and SM-O204P. Meanwhile, the SM-O200J series, likely the Gentle Monster design, will feature five variants: SM-O201J, SM-O202J, SM-O203J, SM-O204J, and SM-O205J.
Our take: These FCC filings confirm Samsung's aggressive push into the smart eyewear space. By securing approvals for multiple SKUs across two distinct design partnerships, Samsung is clearly aiming for broad market appeal, mirroring Meta's successful strategy with Ray-Ban. This multi-pronged approach suggests a serious commitment to challenging current market leaders and establishing a strong presence in the evolving spatial computing landscape.
