Rights & takedowns

On September 25, 2026, INMO International Technology Limited initiated a recall for its INMO Smart Glass AIR3 devices across Canada and the United States. The action follows reports of a burn hazard associated with the AI-powered smart glasses.

According to CTVNews, the recall notice from Health Canada specifically warns that the left side of the INMO Smart Glass AIR3 may overheat during extended use. Consumers are explicitly instructed to "immediately stop using the recalled product" and to update the device's firmware to version 3.16 before any further use. The affected model can be identified by an "AIR3" label located on the inside of the glasses' right leg, CTVNews notes.

Our take: This recall highlights the critical importance of hardware safety and robust thermal management in smart eyewear. For consumers, immediate compliance with recall instructions and firmware updates is non-negotiable. Manufacturers must prioritize rigorous testing, especially as these devices become more powerful and complex.
