At CES 2026, Halliday officially unveiled what it is calling the world’s first proactive AI smart glasses. The company confirmed that shipping for the new eyewear is slated to begin in Q1 2026, with an expected price range of $399 to $499.

Gopal Tiwari of techtoreview.com reports that a key feature of these glasses is the 'DigiWindow,' described as an invisible, lens-free near-eye display. This innovative display projects information directly into the user's field of vision without obstructing it. Tiwari notes that Halliday claims the DigiWindow is the 'world’s smallest and lightest near-eye display,' designed to provide information even for users with imperfect eyesight, and is located in the right frame, displaying a 3.5-inch screen visible in bright sunlight.

According to Tiwari, the eyewear's integrated display utilizes AI assistance to answer questions proactively, meaning without requiring explicit prompts. For example, during meetings, the AI can address complex queries, summarize crucial points, and generate notes automatically. Gopal Tiwari also highlights that the DigiWindow can be controlled via voice commands, frame interface controls, and a dedicated ring with a built-in trackpad.

Gopal Tiwari's piece for techtoreview.com states that Halliday indicated users must connect the glasses to smartphones via Bluetooth to operate them. However, Tiwari points out that the company did not specify which AI model is employed or if there would be additional costs associated with certain AI features.

Additional features reported by techtoreview.com include real-time AI translation for up to 40 languages, live navigation guidance, voice-to-text note transcription, and the ability to display synchronized lyrics during music playback. Wearers can also view and replay messages, create audio memos, and display notes in a teleprompter-like format. Halliday claims the glasses offer eight hours of battery life and weigh 35 grams, available in matte black and tortoiseshell finishes.

Our take: Halliday's emphasis on 'proactive AI' and the 'DigiWindow' represents a significant push to integrate augmented reality more seamlessly into daily life. While the pricing and Q1 2026 shipping window seem ambitious, the feature set, particularly the proactive assistance during meetings and real-time translation, positions these as a formidable contender in the evolving smart glasses market, directly challenging established players and emerging startups alike. The success of this product will likely hinge on the true efficacy of its proactive AI and the user experience of the DigiWindow in real-world scenarios.
