Magic Leap has confirmed the official launch of its Magic Leap 2 AR headset for September 30th, 2022. The company is offering the device in three distinct configurations.
The baseline Magic Leap 2 starts at $3,300, undercutting Microsoft's HoloLens 2 by $200. This entry-level package includes a one-year warranty and access to developer tools.
A more robust option, priced at $4,100, extends the warranty to two years. It maintains access to all enterprise features and updates, suitable for longer-term deployments.
The top-tier offering, at $5,000, provides the same two-year warranty and adds management via enterprise UEM and MDM solutions, vital for large-scale corporate rollouts.
The pricing structure clearly signals Magic Leap's strategic focus on the enterprise sector. The slightly more affordable entry point aims to capture a significant portion of the professional AR market.
Initial availability spans the US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Saudi Arabia.
Magic Leap plans to expand its global reach shortly after, projecting availability in Japan and Singapore before the end of the year.
