Trace, a new venture founded by ex-Magic Leap talent, is making waves with its no-code augmented reality creation platform. The company envisions itself as the "Canva of AR".

The platform targets everyone from global enterprises to independent artists, enabling them to build location-based AR content. This lowers the barrier to entry for spatial computing.

A key differentiator is its emphasis on accessibility, eliminating the need for coding or advanced design skills. Users can create and deploy interactive AR installations across mobile, headsets, and AR glasses.

Trace enters the market at an opportune time. Adobe recently discontinued its Aero AR platform, and Meta's Spark AR service is set to retire in early 2025.

The startup is actively courting users left stranded by these changes. Former Aero and Spark AR creators can receive three months of Trace's premium plan at no cost.

This aggressive play positions Trace to capture a substantial segment of the AR developer community. Their success could significantly accelerate spatial content creation.
